Middle School Football Concludes Season with a Bang

In just the second year of having both a 7th and an 8th grade football team within the greater Reeths-Puffer Football Program, significant gains have been made in Rocket Football. From JV to 7th grade, numbers are up and continuity in instruction is leading to improvement in the win-loss column across the board.

While the 8th grade squad did not finish with the record they had hoped for, there is no shortage of talent or desire in this group of kids. Each and every game Coach Tescari, Coach Pallett, and Coach Barnes had their players battling until the end. Despite a few close losses, the coaches felt their kids got better and better as the season went on. There is no doubt that the lessons these kids learned this season will pay dividends for them in their high school years. A solid off-season of competing in other sports, competing in the classroom, and hitting the weights will make for a heck of a freshman squad next season.

The 7th grade squad turned more than a few heads this season with an undefeated, 6-0 record! The Rockets had no shortage of firepower behind a strong offensive line and powerful backs. Defensively, the Rockets were stingy, often preventing their opponents from scoring a single point! Increased numbers in the coming years should prove to make this an even more dominating class moving forward. Coach Shunta and Coach Webb credit their success to the passion these kids played with not only during games but also at practice. Congrats to Coach Shunta, Coach Webb, and the entire 7th grade squad for a wonderful season we are all very proud of!
